Ian Anderson founds The Designers Republic (tDR) on Bastille day 1986 in Sheffield.

1989

tDR begins working with Warp Records, designing their logo and many iconic album covers over the next 20 years.

1994

Emigre's #29th issue about tDR is released. It remains Emigre's best-selling issue to date.

1995

tDR begins working with Psygnosis on its Wipeout game, shaping its iconic futuristic style.

1999

tDR works with nightclub and EDM brand Gatecrasher, shaping the visual language of the UK clubbing scene.

2006

tDR collaborates with Coca-Cola on its “Love Being” campaign.

2009

tDR undergoes voluntary liquidation, Ian Anderson buys back the name and downsizes the studio.

2019

Ian Anderson releases the “A to Z of The Designers Republic” book, chronicling the studio’s body of work.
